I'm glad EC is going so well. It's on and off with Zari--I haven't noticed any clear signals. She's fairly regular though, so most of my catches are simply based on timing (after nursing on the first side). I think she is noticing my cueing and does respond to that. I catch a lot more poos than pees. I've noticed that she gets really fussy/upset right before she pees, only when I am holding her over her potty bowl. Sometimes screaming her head off fussy! Of course she doesn't do this when she pees in her diaper. Weird...

I really want to buy a Baby Bjorn little potty so I can sit her up on it. I've been using a small tupperware bowl, but her pees are starting to shoot all over the place and hit my legs more often than the bowl.

Oh, and I LOVE our king size bed! We switched to it about 2 weeks after the birth and put our queen in another bedroom. Now there's ample space for the 3 of us plus our large dog.

sweater girl:

ahhh... 3am playtime.... that is fun isn't it? lol... they seem to all get that especially around the 7-8 month range.... With Colin we just gave him a few soft toys and let him play and just used our legs and bodies to block him from crawling off the bed... soon he realized that playing in the dark with two sleeping adults was boring and decided that he was better off sleeping...
and King Size beds.... a must... especially with more kids... we got the King after Colin was born... love it!!!

Marta:
No diet restrictions at all....

Wow, so glad to hear it. Logan is also doing a really big nurse and then letting me sleep for a good 6 hour stretch. She doesn't eat frequently like LLL says they should, she tends to nurse more like 6 times a day but each time she nurses REALLY big so I guess she's fine. I feel like she's my first baby. I really need to write her birth story but my baby moon has been more trying to get everything ready because Ken is only home for a few more days and then I'm on my own all day...bummer. Khena is so sweet sounding. =)

ITA, That's why I've been doing it more and more often... I LOVE it and I want to get a King sized bed before we have our next baby (so does Sacha!). I'll cosleep with the next one right from the start (she was in our room, just not in our bed). I think most baby sleep problems are just unreasonable expectations.. Luckily from the moms I talk to CIO is not the norm whatsoever where I live... I have friends with 2 year olds who still get up in the night with them.

I let Sacha sleep except on weekends or if the Genster decides that 3am is playtime and mommy needs a break (that has only happened a few times). He is great with her though! I hope Ontario follows Quebec's lead with their very generous paternity leave.

Yeah.. it is great having Simon home but even when he was working he has always been the one to get up... I do the breastfeeding, he does the other stuff...
It worked out that way cause if I get up I can't get back to sleep... And if he gets up he can fall asleep before his head hits the pillow...

Co-sleeping is the best way for everyone to get sleep... I think a lot of "sleep problems" would be solved if more people didn't buy into the cultural ideal of babies being independent before they are ready to do so...

I've been blessed with a good sleeper too. My mom jokes that it isn't fair (out of the 4 of us, only John who is the youngest wasn't up every 2-3 hours). I've probably had maybe 15 or so nights where I've been up more than once with her(last night was one of them, but she's teething and has a cold, it's my fault, we're co-sleeping more and more and I should have just left her in bed with us). It is so nice that you have Simon at home with you too so that he can get up at night and then not worry about getting to work (I told Sacha I want him to take at least a month off next time).

Enjoy your babymoon!

What does EC stand for again? I know what it is but can't remember what the acronym stands for.

Do you know of any good websites to read up on it?
