So funny! All those years of swimming and I don't remember getting hungry but it's a different story getting in the pool after spending years away. I like to pack an apple in the car because I need food right away and then something else when I get home. For evening swims I'm finding an extra 1/2 to 3/4 portion saved from dinner really hits the spot. Happy training!

I hear you... it is a type of ravenous that seems to just keep on going even after you eat... I have read it is because of the cold water and that swimming is not the best way to lose weight...

I just love being in the water though...

I just started swimming, as well, and I get ravenous afterwards, too! I have been working so hard at not eating after dinner, but not on swimming nights!

I usually eat granola and yogurt, tonight I had a little scrambled egg whites and cheese on half a bagel. Really, I just wish I could eat everything in the house! lol

thanks for the idea!

I have never tried Marmite... actually I have never even seen it... I have heard so many things about it though.

I just made a Miso paté the other day that I think is going to become a good snack and I think that it will become a staple here...

Last spring when I first started seriously cycling to/from work (and losing weight like crazy as a result) I found that a bagel or toast with marmite was a good snack for me. The carbs got my blood sugar back up (without spiking) and the saltiness of the marmite was welcome after all that sweating.
