I kept telling myself that it was only a baby tooth, but I, too, mourned her smile. I felt like a bad parent on display for a while. I was so worried that she would become self-conscious about it, but two years later, she still doesn't seem to think of it, and I've grown accustomed to how she looks without the tooth.
