I was reading a particularily popular blog and a post about Ferberizing their child. It made me really sad mostly because it's been so long since I've encountered so much support for this kind of sleep training and it really caught me off guard. I wasn't famiar enough with the blog to think that the parents would do this to their child, but alas, it was a pretty popular choice!

I love how you pointed out that if so many people have to "resort to CIO" that maybe the sleep "problems" are more the norm and not so much a problem? Well, it's an age-old battle. I guess I just no longer care to read about people who are so proud or adamant about it. Ugh.

If a baby could use words instead of cries to communicate, what would they say? Perhaps, "I need you," "please help me," "I'm frightened," "I'm cold," etc. Do some parents believe their babies' are making bratty demands with their cries?
