swimming…

February 24th, 2008

My eating habits are pretty good… I don’t eat much junk, My portions are pretty normal but I do need to work on eating more slowly… but the weight is not coming off as fast as I would like… I know I need to move more so that I am burning more calories that I eat… but the gym is WAY too expensive and though walking is great, it is freezing and Icy out and it just doesn’t interest me… but I love the water, I love to swim so that is what I am going to start doing…

Yesterday I bought a new Bathing suit… I am kind of between sizes at the moment so I choose the smaller size knowing that it might be a bit tight at the moment but that if I start to swim on a regular basis I will start losing a bit and I will fit into it better…

So, I am going to be going 2-3X a week… it is about 5 min away and I am going to go after supper while Simon gets the kids ready for bed because the pool is open for laps between 7 and 8… so starting Monday, that is what I am going to be doing…

I’ve heard swimming is one of the best forms of exercise plus it’s easier on the body so less injuries. Have a good time :)

I really enjoy swimming but can’t get into it for fitness just because I really prefer to work out with music and I haven’t a good way to listen to music in the pool yet.

Meanwhile, my health and fitness routine is falling apart here in Quebec City - I’m not eating as well as I have been (not terribly but not great, either) and aside from walking to/from the bus stop and the three flights of stairs to the apartment, I haven’t any cario exercise at the moment. I’m hoping that the snow is cleared from the roads soon and I can figure out the logistics of cycling to work again. I figure it’ll be a month before I really get that underway though.
